Ms. Tara Debes (Varsity Head Coach)

Coach Debes is also a teacher at Gateway.This is her fourth season as the head varsity coach for the Gators but her fifth year coaching in this program. She is a graduate of Holy Family University where she received a full scholarship and was a 4 year starter and 3 year captain. She was a 3-time Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Conference selection and was named Player of the Week in 2003. In 2005 and 2006, Debes was nominated as an Academic All-American. Also in 2006, she was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Collegiate All-Academic All-Stars. Ms. Debes attended Gloucester Catholic High School where she was a 4 year Varsity starter; 3 year captain; 3-time 1st Team All-South Jersey selection in 2000,2001,& 2002; 3- time 1st Team All-Gloucester County Times selection; 3-time 1st Team All-Conference; 2nd Team All-State in 2001; and 1st Team All-State in 2002.
Mrs. Amy Petersen (Varsity Assistant)
Coach Petersen is in her fifth season as a Gateway Softball coach. She has been the JV Head Coach for the past 4 seasons. She began her college career as a pitcher for Gloucester County College, then decided to play Lacrosse at Montclair State University. She is currently attending West Chester University where she is working to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology along with a Minor in Coaching and Health. Amy is also the middle school field hockey coach for Gateway.
Mr. Bill Debes (Varsity Assistant)
Coach Debes is in his fourth season as a coach at Gateway and has been a personal hitting instructor for the past 12 years. He has worked with several local college players on their hitting, base running, and defense. Debes was instrumental in building the offensive skills for the Lady Gators last season and will continue in that capacity this season.

Mr. Bobby Bastien (JV Head Coach)
This is Coach Bastien’s first year as the JV Head coach. Bobby is a Gateway graduate where he was a 3 sport athlete (4 years – Soccer, 4 years – Wrestling, 4 years – Baseball) and earned 10 Varsity letters. He is a Health & Physical Education Teacher and a graduate of Rowan University. Coach Bastien is also the Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach at Gateway.
Mrs. Jo Ann Hanson (JV Assistant)
This is Coach Hanson's second season helping out with the JV Softball team. She is a Gloucester Catholic graduate where she was a 3 sport Varsity athlete (4 years - Softball, 3 years - Basketball, 2 years - Tennis). Jo Ann was a Little League Softball Head/Assistant Coach for 7 years. She has played in women's fast-pitch/slow pitch leagues for 4 years, NJY Soccer league for 6 years, and Northeast Philadelphia Soccer League for 4 years. Coach Hanson has been a Head/ Assistant Coach for NJYS & US Club Soccer league travel teams since 2001. Mrs. Hanson is also a one-on-one aide at National Park Elementary School.
